My cousin and I were able to get a good deal on a 16-foot trailer at an auction. We've needed a trailer since I bought my tractor.
As you can tell, trailer is a but rough. It's an auction so what do you expect.
We had concrete in the ramp holders and the passenger side holder was bent.
Bent with just a touch of concrete.
Got all the concrete out
All ready to go now
All the shackles, bushings and bolts were replaced. Wonder how long those would have lasted before we had a breakdown on the road.
Fenders on both side of the trailer were in rough shape
Fenders on both side of the trailer were in rough shape. Notice the inside panel protecting the tires from the inside.
The wiring was in need of some help. Yes, that green wire, it is an extension cord. Ran front to back . Had some great electrical tape repair work though.
It could be worse.

Trailer came with no ramps so I built some. I mean why not the ramp holders have no more concrete and are straight now.
Thought we would add some new fenders. Got these from Northern Tool.
Got some new meats (as the Roadkill guys like to say).Got them from T&W Tire on Jacksboro Highway. Great service BTW !!!! Also put on new lug nuts. This time they all match. If I broke down with the old one and not had a 4 way I'd been pissed. There were 3 different sized lug nuts on here.
Got some 14 gauge steel to protect the tires
Also added a spare tire mount. Have the tire and wheel but have not gone up to T&W Tire to have them mounted yet.
Added a center brake light.
New side brake lights
Added two side markers per side
We replace all the wheel bearings but one. It would not come off, but really feels like it's safe for a season or two then we'll replace the whole axel. We might even replace both axels at that time. We replaced an entire wheel hub as it had loose wheel studs in it. We were going to replace the floor but with 2020 being what it was and wood prices going thru the roof it, like the axels, will wait for a year or two. It's strong and safe. I'd put a classic car on that floor and not worry. I've also painted most of the trailer with undercoating.
I'll be doing all the wiring next weekend and then it will be finished !!!
UPDATE
3-23-24
Decided to replace the floor and also had to fix all the wiring that the rats chewed up right after I took it to the farm back in 2020.
